Second XI vs. Tenbury - 30 Apr - Exciting start as the match is tied

Fromes bowlers got their season of to to a solid start as B.Childs (2-20) and M. Mendis (1-29) kept Tenbury's openers at bay. Until one was dismissed by a brilliant catch J.Godsall. The score was kept down with some tight bowling from all of Fromes bowlers, including a useful 5 over spell from newcomer R. Jones(0-25). This bought the bowling partnership of C. Cottrell (2-33) and L. Cottrell (4-35) to make inroads into the away batting line up. With 2 stumpings for S. Cottrell, making this not only a good family performance but a good team one.Tenbury were eventually all out for 146.
Frome knew they had time to get this low total so run rate would not be an issue. New opening pair of M. Richards and J. Hughes dug in but Richards was eventually out for 6. This bought M. Godsall to the crease who then shared a good partnership with Hughes. Until Hughes was caught for 45 with the score in the 90's, M.Godsall soon followed for 37, with a good innings from B. Childs 32 the only other innings of note. Leaving frome to scramble up to 146 before all being out with the scores tied. Plenty of positives to take from this team performance against good opposition.
