Under 11 XI vs. Eastnor - 20 Jul - CF U11 cantered to a 35 run win.

Canon Frome U11 vs Eastnor – July 20 “ all-round good team performance well done”.
Canon Frome lost the toss and were put in to bat on a damp wicket. Sam B and Joe D opened the batting steadily and when Joe was bowled in the 4th over the score on 14/1. The new pair of Sam and George H continued to build the score by running singles and two’s until a change of bowler was to Sam’s taste and he found the boundary more often and retired on 32* in the 11th over. The CF 4th man Ben D was caught at mid-off the score had moved on to 68/2. Allan W had scored 3 when he was run out by some swift wicket-keeping. Ben Webster got a rising ball off the handle of his bat presenting the keeper with a catch. CF was now on 84/4 off 15 and with five overs remaining were looking to push on to a large score. However some more indifferent bowling only managed to intimidate the batsman leaving them mainly looking at singles and with Marcus picking up 1 four in the last few overs, the innings ended with CF on 111/4 with George and Marcus both not out on 10 & 6 respectively.

In reply Eastnor faced some good CF bowling which restricted them to slim pickings off the bat. Their batsmen were resilient and did not throw their wickets away in an attempt to chase the runs and frustrated the CF bowlers with their defence and played out their 20 overs. They finished on 76/7 with only 30 runs off the bat. Well bowled boys with Jamie H taking 2 wickets and good catches by Joe D, Ben D and Ben Webb.
