Under 11 XI vs. Brockhampton Badgers - 31 May - CFCC 299 v Brock Badgers 238

The British summer threatened to put paid to this match but the Frome and the Badgers are made of sterner stuff and so having won the toss Brock elected to put Canon Frome in to bat first. Pretty much every player got in amongst the runs today - Sam (15), George (11), Ronan (9), Allan (8), Charlie (8 and 14!), and our new team member, Harrison, also got runs on the board today for the Frome. A good batting performance that posted a target of 99 runs for the Badgers to chase down.
Initially, our fielding looked a bit shaky but the boys soon rallied and our bowling attack started to look more menacing. Charlie and Will bowled two overs each for no runs with Allan bowling another and Ronan bowling his maximum allowable 3 overs at the cost of just one run! Harrison too bowled an over giving away just one run. With bowling figures like that it was always going to be tough for Brockhampton to keep up and it didnt help that we took 9 wickets into the bargain - Charlie taking 3 of them, George 2 (including a caught and bowled), Will another and Sam a couple plus a run out/stumping by Jasper. So in the end we didnt need a potential hat-trick ball from Robbie this week.
