Under 9 XI vs. Eastnor - 24 May - Canon Frome secure first win of the season

On arrival at the ground it was uncertain if the game would proceed, but for a change the drizzle stopped in synch with the 10.00am start... game on.
Eastnor batted first and built a creditable total of 271 runs. great bowling by Izzy who secured 2 wickets and Douggie with one wicket. a good run out too for the Frome.
Frome set about chasing down the target with opening pair Bertie and Jenson putting on 19 runs. The next pair of Edward and Henry put the Frome well ahead of the run rate at 243 from the first 8 overs, but accurate bowling pegged Frome to 269 at the 16 over point. Well done to Archie and Ollie and Gabriella and Izzy for defending well. It was intelligent batting from Douggie and Alex to take Frome over the line ending on 280 . so the first win of the season. A much more even contest this week. Thanks to Eastnor for being great sports and to the Frome fans for great support as per usual. With the U11 securing a win today , it was clearly down to the youngsters to deliver for Canon Frome this weekend..come on the seniors !
