First XI vs. Worcester Dominies - 26 May - Damp and disappointed

Frome batted first on a cloudy afternoon and started well with Styler and Andy putting on 41 for the first wicket before Styler fell for 17 . The promising start soon began to fade as we lost a procession of wickets , tumbling to 85 for 7 from 34 overs , Andy having contributed 42 of those in somewhat sketchy fashion . Lloydy(26) and Alec (17no) took the total on to 127 before Lloydy departed , with Alec and Matt M taking us to a final score of 150 for 8 from our 50 overs .
As we took the field to defend our modest total , so the drizzle began , making our task even harder as the rain steadily got into the ball and made standing up tricky on delivering the ball . Two lbw decisions went against us early on which would have made a difference along with a direct hit run out which was given not out ( by the same ump ) but as the ball became more slippery so the batsmen took control . Alec did have one success but it was the only one we were to have as Worc Dominies reached their target in the 26th over
