Junior Girls vs. Girls Softball Cricket Festival at Bartestree - 29 May - brilliant afternoon of cricket at Colwall CC

The first of 5 Sunday tournaments for girls softball cricket took place at Colwall Cricket Club on Sunday. Colwall fielded a strong team of 8. Bartestree, Canon Frome and in effect Bodenham school came with 12. So two teams of 10 were formed. 2 games each of 10 overs were played on a perfect afternoon for cricket. Colwall+2 did win both games but margins were not the great- just 15 and 22 runs separating the teams in the respective games.
The Awesome Ones (girls came up with that.. not interested in being called Barbarians) : Poppy, Grace, Neave, Nicola, Sophia, Melissa, Isabel, Anabelle, Gabriella, and Emily. The team put in a very impressive all round performance. Excellent calling and running. Accurate bowling and some big hitting. Particular impressive catching.
We have the next tournament on the 12th June. We will accommodate as many girls as turn up and form teams on the day. We can cope with any level of ability. Fun is guaranteed.
