Junior Girls vs. Girls Softball Cricket Festival at Canon Frome CC - 19 Jun - Girls softball tournament; a great success

Thanks to all for taking part in the girls tournament held at Canon Frome this afternoon. We had players from Colwall, Kington, Bartestree and Canon Frome. Over 20 players mixing it up to form two teams playing two quick fire games of softball cricket in the summer sun.. ok so I made the last bit up .. it was played in constant drizzle BUT the girls refused to go home and we continued to complete two full games. honours shared over the 2 games.

Some very accurate bowling, great fielding/throwing and hard hitting. Next game in a couple of weeks at Kington. If we get enough girls we will put on two games at the same time.

V proud that Canon Frome put on this girls tournament today. It looks set to grow and grow. There is every chance we will form our own team this season. All welcome, just bring enthusiasm- we will teach the rest.

Special thanks to Andy Rogers and Mark Godsall (who I found down at the ground early morning today) for producing the best pitches in the county for junior cricket. That is despite the terrible weather of late.
