First XI vs. Tenbury - 07 Jul - Can someone up there help us win the toss ??

With the wicket still showing clear signs of the wet weather which plagued us over the past couple of weeks , it cam as no surprise that stand in skipper Forts lost the toss and we were asked to bat first . The signs were not good when Styler got an unplayable one second ball , Hucks edged one to the keeper in the next over and Alec played all round one to leave us 6 for 3 . Paul was making his opening debut for the firsts and was joined by father Nell , they began to repair the damage before Andrews the elder also played across a straight one . Paul departed soon after followed by Forts leaving the amazing Lloydy and Kit to attempt to put some kind of total on the board . The partnership was going along nicely until Lloydy slipped back into sleep mode completely missing a full toss , obviously his mind was on other things , something which has apparently happened before !! Kit soon followed along with Louis but Max smashed a couple of defiant boundaries before he popped a return catch to the bowler , leaving Badge stranded without having faced a ball as we were all out for 115 .
With the sun now brightly shining having had a considerable drying effect on the wicket , Styler and Louis bowled tidily without causing too many alarms although the amazing yet sleepy Lloydy did drop a catch off the Tenbury opener who seemed to be batting by numbers . The introduction of Paul to the attack saw the first wicket fall thanks to a catch by Alec , we were not successful again until Alec sneaked a wicket with a full toss that was smashed straight to Forts at mid wicket . Paul snaffled two more wickets but it was all in vain as the visitors reached their victory target in the 35th over
