First XI vs. Garnons - 05 Aug - Disappointing Frome in crushing defeat!

Canon Frome went into the game with confidence after a crushing win over not so local rivals Talgarth.

After winning the toss on a damp track they didn't make the most of helpful conditions with weak fielding, poor catching & very average bowling. Without going into too much detail Garnons notched up 300 for 8 with the only bowler with dignity still in tact being Dave Tackleberry.

When Frome went out to bat it went from bad to worse with 2 wickets in the first over and then steadily losing wickets. Again few batsmen could cope against the tight bowling from Garnons although new found star Jacob James batted well and a swashbuckling 21 from Richards came to late. Frome were finally out for 91 and will have to step up their game over the last few weeks to maintain their first division status.
