First XI vs. Leominster - 12 Aug - Ton Up Huckerby Completes Double Over Leominster!

Frome completed the double over Leominster with a comfortable 65 run win. Wining the toss and batting first Andy & Louis started off with Louis forgetting to pull his bat out of the way and going for 9. Andy followed shortly after for 23 which brought Huckerby & Fortnam to the wicket.

They shared a 122 run partnership where Fortnam finally got bat on ball after attempting sweep shots off his fist 17 deliveries. He then played some solid shots on his way to 53. In the mean time Dave Huckerby was going on nicely dispatching all bowlers, all round the park. On Fortnam's dismissal Jacob James came to the wicket and with sweet timing raced up to 11 before being dismissed. Then came James Hughes who added a quick fire 43* to finish unbeaten with Huckerby 121 not out giving Frome a massive 276-4.

Frome then came on to the field and Kit Smith (1-31) took a wicket in hid second over before becoming more wayward and Louis Watkins (2-35) was also on target early on. Andy Lloyd bowled with more control than in the last month with his wide ranging swingers! (2-37) Then as if he hadn't ruined Leominster's day already Dave Huckerby came on to take 3 wickets for 66 including the last man out bowled round his legs!

A good day for Frome which hopefully pushes them further up towards mid-table and safe from relegation. Next week, Hereford City at the Frome……..
