First XI vs. Martley - 14 May - So close, yet so far

Canon Frome lost their 2nd game of the campaign after looking favourites for most of the day. Andy Lloyd lost the toss and the home side chose to bat on a very tasty surface. They made a good start with Matt Morgan being economical and the bounce of new signing Jamie Baldwin being dangerous. Jamie took a couple of wickets before Malinda Mendis came on and also got amongst the wickets. Andy Rogers came on and took 4 quick wickets and they bowled the home side out for 104.

They started solid with Jacob James and Nicko Evans but both ell quickly and the capitulation started. Only Jamie Baldwin offered resistance and until Luke Cotterell and Roger Keep put a last minute partnership together all hope looked lost. They got From to 97 before Keep edged to slip for Frome to lose by 7 runs.
