First XI vs. Stourbridge Social - 21 May - Superb Baldwin 97* not enough as Frome fall short again

The day started with Frome losing the toss and put in to bat on a green looking track.

After James took 13 off the first over (including 2 sixes), the run rate started to slow before the first wicket of James fell after 16 overs, leaving the hosts 49 for 1. From here, Styles and Andrews built a partnership in tricky scoring conditions against a very tidy Stourbridge bowling attack. After Andrews fell with the score 94 off 33 overs, this brought Baldwin to the crease who managed to score a brilliant 97 not out helping Frome score 140 off just 17 overs with very good cameos from Wilson and Pedro. This got Frome up to a very respectable 234 off there 50 overs.

The bowlers started very well with the new ball with Baldwin picking up an early wicket which left the visitors 11 for 1 off 4 overs. This brought the Stourbridge batsman of Milner to the crease who then went on to score a 131 not out (altho after being dropped 5 times throughout that innings) to guide the visitors home in what turned out to be a comfortable victory. James, Morgan and WIlson also picked up wickets
