First XI vs. Hallow - 11 Aug - Frome lose out after 3 wins in a row

Frome went with another much changed side to try and win 4 on the bounce after a good few weeks at home.

It started well with Frome in the field with early wickets from Ben Child & Andy Rogers but with some sloppy fielding (Adam Hope!) their no.3 & 4 started to play shots and get into the game. Nicko Evans arrived late but soon got going with the ball in tandom with "Marathon man" Luke Cottrell. It took a while but Frome took the wickets they needed to keep them in the game.

They however lost control in the last 10 overs with too many boundaries being conceded and should have been chasing a total in the region of 230 but instead were chasing 272!!

The chase started well with J.Hughes back and Simon Cottrell leading the way. The 2 fell quickly and Andy Rogers and Nicko Evans started positively. Nicko fell to a sweep but Adam Hope and Rogers looked comfortable at the wicket taking frome over the 150 mark. Hope fell exposing the tail but when Rogers departed for 94 frome needed 60 from 17 overs. They pushed on but without much power left, Lloydy fell and the chances of victory were over. 23 runs short.
