Under 13 XI vs. Ross-on-Wye - 21 May - Ross-on-Wye 162, Canon Frome 56 all out

With a couple of key players not available, it was always going to be a tough match against a very strong (and tall!) Ross-on-Wye side. However, the performance was a step up from the opening match of the season and the team can be very proud of themselves.

Ross-on-Wye batted first and the fielding and bowling was tighter than against Brockhampton and included 2 wickets - 1 for David who took out one of the opening batsmen and 1 for Jon. David ended up with 1-20 off 4 overs with Jon's figures as 1-26 also off 4 overs. Sam playing up 2 age groups put in some very tidy overs and Marcus put in a very encouraging performance in his first match as a wicket-keeper. There was good fielding in the deep and bowling support from Harry, Jasper, Dom and Arthur.

With a reduced side, batting out the 20 overs was always going to be a challenge, however, Jon played a captain's innings staying in for 16 overs before finally losing his wicket. The other players stood up to some accurate and fast bowling but unfortunately could not make it to the end of the 20 overs.

Thank you again to Allen for umpiring and to Sally for scoring and to all parents for their support in spectating and transporting.
