Under 9 XI vs. Bartestree & Luctonians (@ Luctonians) - 23 Jun - Stormy weather doesnt dampen the spirits of the Frome's U 9s.....

Despite wet and windy conditions at Luctonians today, Canon Frome U9s won against both Bartestree and Luctonians.

In the first game, Bartestree were held to 223, with excellent fielding and accurate bowling from the Frome, taking 7 wickets in the 15 overs. After the interval Canon Frome were quickly ahead of the run rate and intelligent play resulted in the loss of just two wickets as they finished up on 264.

The second game proceeded after the lunch break and some excellent hospitality from hosts Lucs.. The toss proved to be the only thing Frome lost all day, being asked to field first against Luctonians B team. Another excellent all round fielding/bowling performance with amazing run out from Charlie C, a stumping from George H, deadly accurate bowling from Will B and a caught and bowled from Ben D. Will and Ben ending up with 3 wickets a piece. Chasing down just 185 after snagging 11 wickets in total, all Frome needed to do was to keep wickets in hand. There was some accurate bowling, and Rowan, Ronan and Robbie did well to protect their wickets. Sam was cool throughout as were Henry and Marcus with telepathic communication when batting as a pair. So with only 2 wickets lost in each game , Frome made life easy for themselves today, First XI take note.
