First XI vs. Leominster - 10 Jun - Team Performance Finally Starts Frome's Season

Canon Frome got their season properly started with 70 run win at the expense of Leominster.

On a good dry pitch Andy won the toss and elected to have a bat and he and Dave Huckerby (30) got off to a solid start being 43 for 0 off 10 overs. Huckerby & Childs then fell in quick succession bringing Neil Andrews (AKA Flat Track Bully) out to join skip. The pair put on 107 for the 3rd wicket and began to take the game away from Leominster. Andy fell for 55 soon followed by Andrews for 75 but a series of cameos from Marcus 18, James 33no and Badger 24 gave Frome a massive 264-6.

Leominster started well with a big opening partnership but then Frome got to work taking wickets regularly. Louis (2-48) bowled well again and was unlucky not to have better figures, Neil (1-42) bowled well but didn't like it up against a flat track bully & Andy (2-25) took a couple of good wickets including the opener on 91. Lloydy bowled like a girl and will wear a skirt next week (don't scribble in the scorebook again!) I'd like to say Dave Huckerby (1-44) bowled with great flight and control but……. and Kit (2-10) came back to wipe out the tale!

In the end Leominster were 194 all out completing a fantastic team performance for the Frome!
