Under 11 XI vs. Wormelow - 28 Jul - Superb bowling alone was not enough

Frome won the toss and wisely put Wormelow into bat. All who bowled did very well. in detail; Tom Day, Marcus, Sam B, Arthur, William B, George, Ben D and Charlie C. Three wickets for Tom, two for Marcus, two for William, one for Ben and one for Sam. With a run out by Arthur, that was all 10 wickets taken in 18 overs. Great catch behind the stumps from Ben Webb. Wormelow only scored 39 with the bat but extras took the total to 88. An excellent performance with some sharp fielding and no dropped catches.
So a "getable" total, but excellent and accurate bowling from Wormelow made runs from the bat hard to come by. Well done to Sam who batted very well for his 14 not out. But Frome ran out of overs ending on 67.
Special mention for Henry Richards who helped out the u11s with some excellent fielding and throwing.
So this was a game that we might have won , but certainly learnt a lot from the day. Thanks to all our supporters and helpers...you know who you are. That's it for u11s now . We will be back !
