First XI vs. Llandrindod - 24 Jun - Comfortable Win against Boring Llandrindodbodwod!

Frome once again played well and came out with 18 points from a game which was all but over after 65 overs.

Andy again one the toss and choose to bat and immediately set about the Llandod bowlers with 7 boundaries in a quick fire 34. Frome then had a bit of a wobble with Wrinch & Childs going cheaply and Fortnam chipping one up in the air for 15. That brought Neil Andrews (83) to the wicket (yes, you heard it right, Neil Andrews was in Wales!) The authentic flat track bully set about the Welshy's and with James Hughes (62no) following his lead and Matt's quick fire 11no, the Frome looked set to post a positive total in 230-7.

The positive Frome then took to the field and Louis Watkins again outstanding took 2-37 with Andy chipping in with 3-44. Andy Lloyd bowled with real pace (sorry, mean swing & flight) after a passionate night in the hot tub preparing for the game. Then along came the flat track bully to cap a fine all round performance with 2-24. Also good to see the ever so rounded Harry Orgee back for the Frome and he contributed with 5 overs of spin (loose terminology I know!). In the end the Llandrindod were left 7 down and had no interest in chasing the total from the 20th over.

Well done Frome, bring on the might Burghill & surrounding countries……!!!
