Under 15 XI vs. Brockhampton - 11 May - A tough start to the season

Thank you to everyone who stepped out for the Frome this Monday at Brockhampton!
It was the teams first game of the season against arguably the strongest club in the County so expectations werent high and initially it felt like we hadnt even reached those when we were all out for 29 runs!
Ollie Parker was top scorer with 4 runs (Not Out) until he ran out of partners. Eric scored 3 and Tom Day got 2 with Sylvie, Rylan and Tom Davies also adding to the score sheet. Extras put in the lions share for us - getting us to the grand total of 29.
By no means were we ever going to win this match, and certainly not after posting 29, but amazingly when it came to fielding and bowling we put up a much stronger fight. Perhaps if wed shown the same effort and self belief in our batting as we did with our bowling it could have been closer. As it was we actually managed to take 5 of their wickets (!) before Brock got to the 30 that they needed to win. The successful bowlers - Arthur Harris (2), Jasper Gilbert (2) and Tom Day (1) should all take a bow.
Thanks to the entire team for turning out on what was a beautiful sunny Monday evening and playing our inaugral U15s cricket match.
