Under 13 XI vs. Wormelow - 26 May - A brief innings

We always seem to have lovely weather for our visits to Wormelow and this visit was no exception. It was, all things considered, a very enjoyable match despite the result with our whole batting line up getting a chance to go out into the middle and then come back in again.
Arthur Harris captained in good spirit, encouraging the team the whole time and ensuring that our fielding was tight (more of that in a minute). We gave away just 23 Extras in this game so that points to much tighter bowling on our part - and good wicket keeping from Marcus - something we must continue to do.
However, there were two stars in this encounter, the first one being Wormelows J.L. Adams who right did for us with a Five for! Accurate fast bowling and a real test for some of our U11s - not to mention our U13s. Luckily we wont be playing against him every week.
The other standout performance was our own Ben Day who took a really fantastic catch out in the field off James Berrys bowling and then proceeded to bat himself into second place in the scorer rankings for the game with 11 runs - just behind his brother Tom with 13. That was one wicket down, the other two wickets were clean bowls from Sam and a wicket maiden from Tom!
Well done all the boys - it was a very entertaining match.
