Under 13 XI vs. Brockhampton - 23 Jun - Some fast bowling for some of our batters

Up against the mighty Brockhampton once again and up against the pace bowling of Charlie Williams!
We batted first and managed to get a total of 98. Our top scorer was our captain Tom Day on 35 having retired on 30 and returning to the fray later on. In fact this was the Tom and Sylvie show, with Sylvie Slinger the second highest batter and the two of them taking all the wickets with two wickets apiece!
Positives for Canon Frome are that we only gave Brockhampton 20 Extras, they had to earn the rest of their runs! Brockhampton were far more generous to us gifting us 51 sorely needed Extras to give us anything like meaningful total. We definitely need to be thinking about all the different ways to score runs besides accumulating Extras. We need to be backing up and hungry for singles keeping the scoreboard ticking over. If we put pressure on with our running between the sticks it puts the pressure back on the fielders but we must be looking to back up and be alert at all times for the call.
Another pleasant evening and more tasty hotdogs which will hopefully ensure Sylvie steps out for us again at this fixture.
Thanks to Luke for umpiring, Harry Booth for scoring and Kay Harris for pulling it all together.
