Under 11 XI vs. Ross-on-Wye - 14 Jun - Quick on the draw! 142 - 142

So who would have credited it? Just days after the U13s snatch a draw the U11s battle through for another tie in very similar circumstances.
Highlights of this game have to be Will Brandreth who batted to 30 and retirement in record time.
He must have been in a hurry to get to an appointment elsewhere as four followed four followed four. Then we had Ronan Chowns Higgs, second highest scorer, and just four shy himself of having to be retired; well done Ronan; in any other game that would have been top score! In fact the batting in this team is becoming very aggressive these days with Will Brandreth 30, Ronan Chowns Higgs 26, Sam Booth 15 and George Harris and Ben Day on 10 each we soon racked up 106 actual runs, something we used to struggle to do but now seem to be able to do right through the order with Jasper Wilce striking a four from the very start of his innings.
Unfortunately, once again, it is our wayward fielding and bowling that makes these games tighter than they might be as Extras yet again proved to be the highest scorer against us. Nevertheless, there were positives even here with Jasper taking a good catch at the wicket and Charlie Cresswell taking two wickets with his bowling.
At the end of this game we needed 3 runs off the last ball to win, it couldnt have been tighter. Taking a leaf out of the U13s match a few days earlier we sent in one of our younger batsmen to save the day. Cometh the hour and all that; in came Henry Richards fully aware that we needed three runs and had just one ball to get them with. It was Deja Vu all over again as he swept what might have been a certain four except for some nifty fielding but still managed to run a crafty two with the help of some very alert backing up from Harrison Walker (himself on six already). Cue mass celebrations just like at the U13s game a few days earlier! Another draw! Another great morning of entertaining cricket! More parents with hoarse voices! Thanks to Paul Cresswell for pulling it all together and thanks to Sally Booth for scoring yet again. Thank you to Kay.
